Quarq Is Releasing Two New Power-Measuring Crank Designs

Quarq is releasing two new power-measuring crank designs with refined designs, lighter weight and more crank lengths than its previous offerings.

Quarq Offers New Power Cranks

The SRAM-owned company's new cranks are called the ELSA 10 and RIKEN 10.

The top-end ELSA 10 model retails for $1,995 and weighs 735 grams per pair in the GXP bottom bracket orientation, about 50 grams lighter than Quarq's SRAM Red-based crankset. It has hollow carbon arms that are available in crank lengths from 162.5 to 177.5. It's available now.

The $1,595 RIKEN 10 model will be available February 22. It has solid carbon arms and weighs 823 grams per pair. It has fewer crank length options than the ELSA — from 170 to 177.5.

Both models capture left and right leg power and work with ANT+ wireless compatible head units. They are available in 53/39 or 50/34 chainrings and chainring sizes can be changed without recalibration. Quarq said the new cranks are compatible with oversized frames and work with large aero time trial chainrings.
