German sports car manufacturer Porsche reported 14% rise in its worldwide sales to 69,171 during first half (H1) of 2012 over the same period in 2011.

The sports car maker had sold 12,699 new cars in June, reporting 18.9% rise over year ago month.

Porsche Executive Board Sales and Marketing member Bernhard Maier said Porsche continued on its growth path in the first half of the year.

"Nevertheless, we are currently planning for double-digit growth in 2012," Maier said.

Porsche's sales in Europe increased 19.7% and Asia Pacific region reported 175 rise to 23,948 sports cars during H1 2012 when compared to the period from January to June 2011.

The carmaker's sales in China reported a year-on-year rise of 24.5% to 15,274 new cars during the period.

Porsche had sold 14,338 of its 911 sports car which represents 27.9% rise and sales of Panamera increased 25.3% to 15,601 units during H1 2012.

Sales of the company's Cayenne sports car increased 15.5% to 34,727 vehicles during the period when compared to same period in 2011.
