German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new 2014 S 63 AMG saloon, prior to its world premiere at the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 2013.
The new saloon is powered by a 5.5L V8 BlueDIRECT biturbo engine, which is mated to AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and generates an output of 585hp as well as 900Nm of torque.
German carmaker's new saloon offers three transmission modes including 'C' (Controlled Efficiency), 'S' (Sport) and 'M' (Manual) that enable user to improve performance as per requirements.
S 63 AMG's sports exhaust system incorporates automatic logic-controlled exhaust flaps in both rear silencers, while the optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive distributes 33% of the engine torque to the front axle and 67% to the rear axle.
Equipped with two suspension variants including Airmatic and Magic Body Control that enhance comfort on long journeys, the saloon improves vehicle handling and agility with the new electromechanical speed-sensitive sports steering with variable steering ratio.
Features of the Mercedes' new model include optional ceramic high-performance composite brake system, ECO start/stop function, 78 Ah lithium-ion battery, ESP curve dynamic assist and forged light-alloy wheels, in addition to sports seats with electrical adjustment, Memory function and seat heating system.
Claimed to be 100kg lighter than its predecessor, the saloon incorporates security features such as driving assistance package plus, night view assist plus.
