Michelin Americas Truck Tires, an arm of Michelin North America has launched Michelin X Multi Energy D Pre-Mold retread for regional and emerging super-regional applications.
Building on the previously launched Michelin X Multi Energy D drive tire, the SmartWay-verified retread is touted to deliver 25% longer tread life, without compromising fuel efficiency and scrub resistance in regional applications.
The retread has variants in terms of three tread widths: 220, 230 and 240, all of them with 21/32" tread depth.
Michelin Americas Truck Tires US marketing director Bianca Hogan said: "With shorter routes trending in the trucking industry, customers are looking for tires and retreads that can handle mixed highway and regional use.
"The new Michelin X Multi Energy D Pre-Mold retread complements our new tire offering in meeting those needs and performs especially well in 4x2 applications."
The Michelin X Multi Energy D retread is also stated to be guaranteed for a second retread on a Michelin casing (Michelin on Michelin) by Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) dealers, the company said.
The Michelin X Multi Energy D Pre-Mold retread shows a dual energy compound, while the top layer is touted to provide an exceptional removal mileage.
Besides, the bottom layer makes way for the tread to run cool, minimizing internal casing temperatures for low rolling resistance and extended casing life. It also features Michelin's inter-locking Matrix Siping, offering excellent traction and even wear.
