German carmaker Audi has unveiled the new S3 Sportback ahead of its global debut at the upcoming 2013 Geneva motor show to be held during 05 March to 17 March 2013 in Switzerland.
The new hatchback is powered by enhanced four-cylinder 2.0 TFSI engine that generates an output of 300hp at 5,500rpm and 380Nm of torque from 1,800 to 5,500 rpm.
The engine is aimed at offering power and improved efficiency through the adoption of technologies including dual injection via Audi valvelift system as well as an exhaust manifold incorporated inside the cylinder head to thermal management.
Being offered with an optional six-speed S tronic and a standard six-speed manual transmission, the new hatchback is claimed to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in five seconds and just five-tenths of a second more respectively, while offering a top speed of 250km/h.
Additionally, the dual-clutch four-wheel-drive system can be controlled through an optional shift paddles on the steering wheel and two automatic modes D and S will be offered in addition to manual mode.
Features of the new five-door model include S sport suspension, Audi drive select, optional Audi magnetic ride system and Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC).
The new Audi S3 Sportback is expected to go on sale in September 2013.
