Fukuda Denshi, a manufacturer of medical electronics equipment, has entered into an agreement to market and sell Boston Scientific's neuromodulation device and accessories throughout Japan.
Under the agreement, Fukuda will distribute Boston Scientific's Spinal Cord Precision Plus system featuring 16 dedicated, independent current sources to offer patients wireless charging and wireless remote control to treat the pain.
Fukuda Denshi, which has reached an agreement with Boston Scientific through its subsidiary Boston Scientific Japan, will begin distributing neuromodulation products effective from 1 April 2013.
Boston Scientific Japan president Yusuke Naiki said the company looks forward to a successful relationship with Fukuda Denshi.
"Fukuda Denshi has been an established player in Japan for more than 70 years, with a proven track record and a long and successful history of delivering results," Naiki added.
