Certara, a provider of software and scientific consulting services for drug discovery, has announced the acquisition of Great Lakes Drug Development, a consultancy firm (GLDD) based in Brighton, Michigan.
The acquisition is expected to increase the depth of Certara's early drug development analysis, modeling and simulation expertise.
GLDD is focused on early development work, whereas Certara is focused on the entire drug development continuum.
Certara senior vice president and general manager Daniel Weiner said, "This acquisition will enable us to leverage the significant synergies between Certara's and GLDD's business focus, experience, and culture, while expanding our customer base."
GLDD chief executive officer David Hermann added, "We look forward to joining Certara's Pharsight Consulting Services to enhance their capabilities and provide our customers with access to additional services and expertise."
Further financial details have not been revealed.
