FUJIFILM SonoSite has introduced AxoTrack needle guidance technology for use with select SonoSite M-Turbo ultrasound systems for ultrasound-guided procedures.
The AxoTrack System is designed to have ultrasound transducer from SonoSite and a sterile procedure kit for single-use from Soma Access Systems.
SonoSite president and CEO Kevin Goodwin said, "By reducing vascular access time and enhancing patient safety, AxoTrack can ultimately reduce procedural risks and costs at a time when all of these points really matter to health systems."
AxoTrack features ultrasound and advanced magnetics facilitating visual updates of needle location while travelling through the tissue to reach the target.
The technology is designed to save time and improve procedure outcomes especially for vascular access.
