Morrisons Recalls Cheddar Sandwich & Signature Mature Red Cheddar Coleslaw Over Allergens

UK-based supermarket chain Morrisons is recalling Just Cheddar Sandwich and Signature Mature Red Cheddar Coleslaw as the products may contain allergens, which are not declared on the label, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The Just Cheddar Sandwich, which bears a use by date of 12 December 2012, may contain mayonnaise. The mayonnaise contains egg and mustard, which is not mentioned on the product label. Consumers who are allergic to egg or mustard have been asked not to consume this product.

Signature Mature Red Cheddar Coleslaw, which bears a use by date of 13 December 2012, may contain cheddar and sundried tomato pasta containing gluten (wheat). The presence of gluten is not mentioned in the allergen information. Consumers who are allergic of or intolerant to wheat or gluten have been asked not to eat this product.

Morrisons has withdrawn the affected batches from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organizations, which will notify their members the reason behind the recall.

No other batches of the coleslaw or other Morrisons products are known to be affected.
