Swiss food packaging and processing company Tetra Pak has introduced the new Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Mid LightCap 24 carton packaging that features the company’s lowest cost screw cap which offers consumers increased functionality.
The new Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Mid LightCap 24 has a two-step opening with barrier protection for a wide range of products including oxygen sensitive drinks such as value added milk, juices and nectars, still drinks and wine and guarantees that the product is kept fresh for longer.
According to the company, the package also features a pull ring, which gives more security for consumers as it demonstrates clearly whether the carton has been previously opened. It uses a combination of pre-laminated hole (PLH) and direct injection moulding concept (DIMC) technologies.
LightCap 24 meets the pallet efficiency level set by the Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Base perforation enabling customers to distribute the same number of liters per pallet while adding functionality for the consumer through the addition of the new closure.
The package, which is scheduled for global release from March 2013, runs on the Tetra Pak A/3Flex 0400V filling machine and allows customers to increase the number of hourly packages produced to 8,000 packages from 6,000 Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Base packages.
