Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has recalled 1420 units of Mirage GLS vehicles, over a problem with the front wheel speed sensors.
The recall affects Mirage GLS vehicles sold by the company from November 2012 to March 2013 that are having antilock brake system (ABS), both manual and automatic transmission versions.
Due to the inadequate waterproofing of the front wheel speed sensors, it could be affected by the water from rain or during carwash resulting in the malfunction of the ABS system.
As a part of the recall, the company would replace the front wheel speed sensors, which is expected to take an hour.
The company claims that no accidents related to the problem have been reported.
Earlier, Mitsubishi Motors had recalled 1,402 electric vehicles in the US due to problem in the brake as a part of 14,700 Mitsubishi i-MiEV vehicles recalled in Japan.
