Hyland joined the company on 2 July after two years working for life sciences business Alere Technologies.
Prior to that, he spent three years at Life Technologies as head of technical support, which followed more than two decades at J&J in a range of operational roles.
API Foils Europe managing director Will Oldham said: “[Hyland's] strong background of manufacturing leadership in the pharmaceutical industry from a chemical engineering and product development base brings key competencies to our business.
Hyland studied chemical engineering at Paisley University before completing his MBA at Heriot Watt University.
Hyland said: “I know there are fantastic growth opportunities available for the company so I’m excited to be joining the Livingston team and look forward to working with them.”
