Toyo Automotive Will Invest $6m to Expand and Modernize Its Facility

Automotive parts manufacturer Toyo Automotive will invest $6m to expand and modernize its facility in Simpson County, Kentucky in the US.

The company also plans to purchase new rubber mixing equipment to internalize some processes it currently outsources.

With the investment, the manufacturer will modernize and expand the current 165,000ft2 facility, which is located at the Sanders Interstate Industrial Park in Franklin.

Toyo Automotive plant manager Ron Wyans said the company is pleased to bring the rubber mixing process into its facility.

"This expansion of our processes and improvements in others will certainly improve our competitive position and will lead to new business for us here in Franklin," Wyans added.

"That opportunity will help us secure our future for many years to come."

Toyo Automotive has been producing anti-vibration auto parts in Kentucky since 2002 and is a primary provider for automobile manufacturers such as Toyota and Nissan.

Franklin Mayor Ronnie Clark said, "Toyo was our Industry of the Year in 2013, and this marks its third expansion since locating in our community over a decade ago."
