US-based automotive tire supplier Cooper has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of new all-season performance CS5 Touring tire.
Designed for use in modern sedans and SUVs, the new tire includes new Wear Square technology, a visual tread wear indicator, which will allow the assessment of amount of wear on the tread of the tire and indicate time to replace it.
Launch of the new CS5 tire is said to represent the company's 100-year anniversary.
Cooper Product Management director Scott Jamieson said, "It's truly Cooper's most impressive touring tire yet and the first to feature our innovative Wear Square tread life indicator."
The new touring tire features second generation silica tread compound with an advanced polymer formulation with four times more silica than the previous generation to offer better performance.
According to the company, the tire is claimed to offer better steering response, wet breaking and handling performance characteristics with its asymmetric tread design, Stabiledge technology and 3D Micro-Gauge sipes.
The new tire is made available in 78 sizes as well as in T-speed, H-rated, V-rated and the new W-rated touring sizes.
