The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has selected Taiwan-based solar cell makers Motech Industries and Gintech Energy as respondents to its anti-dumping investigation.
There were 24 Taiwan-based solar cell makers answering a DOC questionnaire as part of the anti-dumping investigation, and Motech and Gintech have been selected as respondents based on production capacity as well as direct and indirect exports to the US market during October 2012-September 2013, DOC said.
If DOC imposes anti-dumping tariffs on Motech and Gintech, the rate for each of the other 22 makers will be the average of the rates for the two respondents, chairman Sam Hong for the Taiwan Photovoltaic Industry Association indicated.
