Sweden-based automaker Volvo is planning to recall 7,767 vehicles in the US over two different issues that would affect the batteries.

The recall affects 2014 model year vehicles including the S60 and S80 sedans as well as the XC60 and XC70 crossovers, all of which are equipped with keyless ignition.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the central electronic module (CEM) of the affected vehicles may perform improperly.

The turn signals, high beams and headlight switch may malfunction and increase the risk of a crash.

As per documentation filed with the federal government Volvo said the amber-colored warning light in the driver information module (DIM) will illuminate and there may be a message displayed as, 'Alarm system service required'.

"There may also be other messages in the DIM depending on individual vehicle equipment," Volvo said.

According to the company, the cruise control in the affected vehicles may not work due to the issue and the battery may drain due to high quiescent current.
