Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), US has reported the sales of 178,044 units in April 2012, marking a 25.5% rise when compared to the corresponding period last year.
The company has reported 11.6% rise in its sales last month consisting of 24 selling days when compared to 27 selling days in April 2011.
Sales of Toyota Division had rose 27.2% over April 2011 to 160,493 units, while on volume-basis, the Division's sales reported 13.15 rise over the corresponding month the year-ago.
Toyota's Lexus Division had sold 17,551 units, marking a 12.3% rise over the same month last year, while volume wise, its sales were flat during the period.
Toyota Division passenger cars reported a 44.3% rise in the combined sales to 99,450 units over the previous year, while Camry and Camry Hybrid led passenger cars reported combined sales of 36,820 units, a 36.1% rise year-over-year.
The company's Prius family recorded the sales of about 25,168 units, marking 126.9% rise when compared to the corresponding month last year, while Corolla and Avalon reported respective selling of 24,804 units, a 15.25% and 2,881 units, a 20.9% rise over theyear-ago month.
Toyota Division light trucks reported sales of 60,043 units, marking 6.5% rise compared to April 2011.
Sales of the company's hybrid vehicles increased 124.6% to 32,593 hybrid vehicles when compared to the same period last year.
