Premier Pharmacy Services has deployed TCGRx's ShortCycleRx comprehensive system complete version to provide more services as well as short cycle dispensing to its customers.
The firm, in the first quarter of 2012, had initially implemented the software's first phase, which aims to comply with new short cycle dispensing regulations that requires 14-day dispensing on brand medications.
Premier Pharmacy claims that by deploying the TCGRx ShortCycleRx solution, the new workflow procedure processed prescriptions in about one-third of the time it had previously taken.
The software's ATP (Automated Tablet Packager) feature allows Premier Pharmacy to keep up with increased activity while maintaining high levels of quality control.
The tool's Smart Tray works in coincidence with the ATP to ensure that all non-formulary medications are filled and labeled accurately through barcode validation and light direction.
Premier Pharmacy Services operations vice president Ponce Bautista said, "TCGRx presented a complete answer to our pharmacy's needs. They provided answers to missteps before they occurred. And we are now steps ahead in serving our patients."
