US-based infant formula company Perrigo Nutritionals has developed the new SmarTub packaging for its Store Brand Infant Formulas with an investment of $29m.
The new plastic tub consists of an AccuMeasure scoop leveler for accurate feedings and CleanPull technology that easily removes a foil liner with one pull.
SmarTub also features SimpleSlide scoop storage for less mess, a longer scoop handle for hygienic scooping and an anti-theft tag compatibility that protects the product where it is sold in retailers across the US.
Perrigo Nutritionals general manager Scott Jamison said the company has advanced infant formula packaging with novelties that will transform the user experience for parents.
"This undertaking began with extensive competitive analysis and consumer research, and culminated with the addition of a new state-of-the-art packaging line at our ISO 9001:2008-certified facility in Vermont," Jamison said.
The Vermont facility manufactures Store Brand Infant Formulas and is capable of producing 65 million pounds of powder formula annually.
