Foster Farms, an American producer of poultry products, has recommenced the operations at its poultry plant in Livingston, California.
The company has voluntarily halted the operations at the plant on 12 January in order to ensure proper sanitation measures, following a cockroach issue detected by the US Department of Agriculture.
Meanwhile, Foster Farms has temporarily moved its production at the Livingston plant to other facilities in California.
The company has now recalled all 3,500 employees to the plant, while planning to add weekend shifts and provide overtime to hourly plant employees over the coming weeks.
Foster Farms president Ron Foster said, "Although this has been a challenging time, we remain committed to the highest level of quality and food safety through all aspects of our plant operations and will emerge a stronger company."
The company produces poultry products. It offers chicken, cooked frozen chicken and turkey, fully cooked refrigerated chicken and turkey, frozen chicken, turkey, deli lunchmeats and franks, and corndogs.
