Carlsberg UK has announced the opening of a new pound 20m ($30m) bottling line in a bid to increase the output at its Northampton brewery site.
The 7,000m2 'Carlsberg Cube' facility will bottle the company's full range of beers including Carlsberg, Export, Tuborg, San Miguel, Fresca and Somersby.
According to the company, all bottling for the UK market will be done in the country from the new facility.
The new line has the capacity to produce 60,000 bottles of beer every hour.
Carlsberg CEO Jorgen Buhl Rasmussen said, "This bottling line secures our long-term future in our UK home of Northampton where we have been based for over 30 years."
The company has designed the new bottling line so as to ensure that resource and environmental impacts are reduced.
