Huawei squeezes HTC and enters the top 5 of global smart phone. IDC released smart phone rankings of the fourth quarter of last year, which was a major reshuffle. Chinese continent brand, Huawei, beat South Korea's LG and Taiwan's HTC with its mainland home advantage as well as the price competitiveness, ranked third in the world. Huawei now is of the fastest growing mobile phone brands.
Huawei, ZTE occupy a pivotal position in the global communications industry. Led by Huawei and ZTE, Chinese domestic phones will be less likely to repeat the tragedy of 10 years ago, whose market share quickly was occupied by international giants.
