A pair of toy industry specialists have formed a new company: Maad Toys.
Directors David Kupse (left) and Alan Smith (right) have set up the Manchester-based initiative, which already has "strong financial backing" and several licences including Moshi Monsters, Mr. Men and Little Miss.
More details on the Mr Men products can be found here.
Smith previously worked at Ideal, Playmates and Sega, while Kupse has been working with Singleton Trading Ltd and was previously with Vivid. Prior to that, he also worked with Playmates and Ideal in senior sales positions.
Maad Toys will operate out of the Singleton Trading’s offices at Salbec House, 16 Winders Way, Salford M6 6AR using their warehousing and office facilities in the short term, until negotiations are completed on new premises.
Kupse said: "We have moved very quickly in setting up Maad Toys, although ironically we have been talking about doing this for a long time. Our new stock will be arriving in the UK ready for Spring/Summer 2013."
Smith added: “We are delighted to have signed the Moshi Monsters License for our great Scribble Me range. Two new items are in production now - Scribble Me Poppet plush and the Scribble Me Poppet Messenger bag.
"The future is most definitely Maad!”
The company also announced the appointment of Pittilla PR to handle its future campaigns.
