Italian luxury car maker, Maserati, a unit of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has teased the images of its first SUV, Levante.
The car is all set to make its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in March.
The car maker usually makes two and four-seater sports cars such as Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabiro.
The company hasn't released any specifications about the engines except announcing that they will be available in petrol or diesel versions.
It is speculated that the SUV will be powered by 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine and V8 petrol engine with 8-speed transmission, that can give a power output of about 580hp.
According to the company, the new SUV is being built at its Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy.
The company is planning to release this car right after the Geneva International Motor Show in Europe and the rest of the world in the coming months.
It says that the SUV has been built to handle even on low grip surfaces and offers a very good off-road performance and ride.
The SUV will be equipped with latest offerings in electronics suspension technology which uses controlled damping and air springs to soak up those bumpy rides.
The car also has an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system which distributes the power output equally among the 4-wheels.
The company says that the car has been designed keeping in mind its distinctive Italian character. The front of the SUV will have tapered headlights which will be separated into two elements.
