Ford Motor Is Planning to Recall 33,021 Vehicles in The Country Due to Roof Problems

US based auto mobile manufacturer Ford Motor is planning to recall 33,021 vehicles in the country saying that the roof of the vehicle may not offer enough protection from crash.

The recall will affect 2013 model year C-Max Hybrid vehicles manufactured between 19 January 2012 and 25 June 2013, however it will not include the vehicles equipped with panoramic roofs.

The recall was prompted by the failure of the vehicles to fulfill the federal safety standards for head injury risk.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has discovered the issue while testing the vehicle.

According to the documentation submitted to the NHTSA, the company claimed to have no reports of any injuries related to the issue.

Under the recall, the manufacturer will install additional plastic energy absorbing material on the left and right sides between the roof of the C-Max Hybrid and its headliner.

The recall is expected to start from 19 August 2013.
