General Motors has given global approval for use of select PPG clearcoats for warranty repairs on its vehicles. The approved products include PPG’s NEXA AUTOCOLOR P190-6800 HS Express Clearcoat, ENVIROBASE® High Performance EC800 Ultra Fast 2.1 Clearcoat and DELTRON DC2000 Ultra Velocity Clearcoat. Each product underwent comprehensive testing to ensure it met GM’s rigorous quality standards.
“All three of these PPG clearcoats have proven themselves to be exactly what we require to ensure the high quality of our GM dealer network’s warranty repairs,” said Bob Hiser, GM service engineer. “All three clearcoats deliver the high-gloss premium finish our customers demand—and they do it in an efficient and effective manner allowing for high productivity. We’re pleased to add them to the long list of our other approved PPG products.”
P190-6800 HS Express Clearcoat is a 2.1 VOC air-dry compliant clearcoat designed for use with the PPG AQUABASE Plus waterborne refinish system and offers optimal productivity without compromising durability or final appearance. P190-6800 bypasses the baking cycle and is ready for polish in as little as 30 minutes. The clearcoat is formulated to eliminate the need for flash time between coats, spray booth heat time and cool-down before polishing, thereby reducing total process time while still delivering outstanding gloss and final appearance.
EC800 Ultra Fast 2.1 Clearcoat is part of the PPG Envirobase High Performancewaterborne system. It too is a 2.1 VOC air-dry clearcoat that shortens refinish cycle times while delivering premium quality finishes. Requiring no flash time between coats, it dries dust-free in as little as 10 minutes, requires no time baking in the paint booth and doesn’t compromise finish quality, appearance or durability.
Deltron DC2000 Ultra Velocity Clearcoat is a versatile clearcoat suitable for use with theDeltron DBC, GLOBAL REFINISH SYSTEM® and Envirobase High Performancebasecoats. It is also a quick-drying clearcoat that requires no flash time between coats and no baking in the refinish process. It provides excellent gloss and final appearance in approximately 25 minutes.
