CSC Scientific Company, Inc. has added the Fungilab Master Series Rotational Viscometer to their product line.
The new product marks CSC Scientific's expansion into a new testing area - viscosity.
One of the most popular posts on the CSC Scientific Blog is the January 2009 article, "Is Consistency Viscosity? Not Really!", which explains the difference between consistency and viscosity. The two terms are often used interchangeably when describing the thickness of a fluid, but their respective tests measure different factors and the results cannot be interchanged. Many inquiries into CSC Scientific's popular product, the Bostwick Consistomter, are really people looking for a viscosity test. The new Rotational Viscometer will satisfy this need.
Rotational viscometers test viscosity by measuring the torque required to turn a spindle in a sample of fluid. This method is appropriate for both Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluids, and is capable of measuring multiple factors in a wide viscosity range. The Master Series Rotational Viscometer offers four models to match most price points and testing parameters. Low Viscosity and Small Sample Adapters are also available.
CSC Scientific Company, Inc. manufactures and distributes laboratory equipment for quality control, production, and product development in the areas of moisture, particle size, surface tension, viscosity and consistency. The company was founded in 1889 and is based in Fairfax, Virginia.
