A few days ago, Baofine Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., as the a subsidiary of Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group, won the Investment Project Award under the China's National Excellent High and Quality Project Award 2012-2013 by engineering the technological revamping project of structural readjustment of hot rolled products of Meishan Steel.
The technological revamping project of structural readjustment of hot rolled products of Meishan Steel, was the first project planned by Meishan steel during the period of the Eleventh Five-Year (2006~2010) Plan of the People’s Republic of China for the National Economic and Social Development, with a total investment of RMB 3.5 billion yuan, thereof, the investment in environmental protection accounted for 7.5% of the total investment. The design for the project was strictly followed by the related requirements in energy-saving and environmental protection specified in the regulations in order to make it to reach the level 1 standards of China's national clean production. The designed annual production capacity is of 850,000 tons of steel products, the main lines in the project included 8 machine units, such as, pickling line, annealing line, electrotinning line, hot galvanized line, hot-dip galvanized line, hot-dip aluminum-zinc steel sheet line, etc; by doing so, Meishan steel had successfully expanded its market from the original final-end products of hot-rolled plates and coils to the high quality electrotinning sheet, hot-dip aluminum sheet, hot-dip aluminum and zinc sheet, while the above-mentioned products are usually featured with much more difficulties in process, higher added value and demanded urgently by the buyers in the market. The machine units in the project has officially been running in perfect condition since October, 2009 after it had finished the hot load test.
Reportedly, the Investment Project Award under the China's National Excellent and High Quality Project Award began in December, 2009, which is a national wide Evaluations and Awards activities launched by the National Development and Reform Committee, held every two years. At this time, a total of 78 projects from 20 industries were awarded with the Awards, these projects are usually in line with the national industrial development policy during the period of Twelfth Five-Year Plan of the People’s Republic of China for the National Economic and Social Development, it put much emphasis on breakthrough in the project based on independent development and innovation, more attention has been paid on the quality and benefit of the investment in the project, and the projects awarded have more advanced level in terms of investment compared with the other projects within the same period.
