After the recall of more than 500,000 vehicles in the United States, BMW said on February 21, in the Chinese mainland market, it will recall some of the imported car BMW X5 since March 18 and 2,116 vehicles are involved. The data shows that on February 7, United States recalled more than 30,000 X5 because of the brake vacuum booster pump defect, and the implementation date of February.
Brake booster of recalled vehicles may be polluted by the oil in vacuum pump, and thus the brake booster functions may be affected. In some cases, the vehicle may lose the Brake Assist function, or may lead to a decline in vehicle braking performance.
BMW promised to replace with the improved vacuum line for free. In checking the vacuum tube, if there is lubricating oil on the side that vacuum tube connects brake booster, brake booster and brake master cylinder should be replaced.
