Games, puzzles and books specialist Orchard Toys has achieved a record month in terms of turnover.
MD Simon Newbery told ToyNews that October and November last year were huge months for the company.
Year-on-year sales rose 35 per cent in November 2012.
"November was indeed a record month in terms of turnover for us at Orchard Toys, but what has rather slipped under the radar is that it followed what was, not only our best ever October, but was also the biggest month we had ever seen," he said.
"Traditionally, November is our peak turnover month, so we were fairly certain that October's record would be short lived. What we did not expect was the scale of the increase on the previous Novembe - it was far in excess of even our most optimistic forecasts.
Newbery added: "The thing that made November's achievement even more remarkable was that it was achieved from a position of very limited stockholding, due to the huge demand on stock reserves during October, with 58 per cent year-on-year growth.
"I can only reiterate publicly what I have said in private to the fantastic staff here at Orchard Toys, and indeed to our supplier base, that their efforts in achieving these numbers were quite simply phenomenal.
"The ability to react to demand so spontaneously totally vindicates our commitment to continue manufacturing in the UK.
"However, for the sake of our nerves, we are currently implementing plans to cover even bigger volumes in 2013."
