Volvo Car Group's Sales of Cars Increased by 48.6%

Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo Car Group has reported sales of 5,719 cars in September in China, up 48.6%, compared to the same period in 2012.

Of all the models sold, Volvo XC60 emerged as the top selling model with 2,482 cars sold in September, followed by V40 model, which supported the growth in the Chinese market.

Global sales of Volvo XC60 in September with 10,757 units, compared to 9,462 units in 2012. Volvo V40 has recorded 8,220 cars sales globally, compared to 3,063 units sold in the same period of 2012.

The V40 sales reached 10,683 units with the Cross Country version car sales included. Following these two, Volvo V60 stood in the third place with 5,969 units sold, compared to 4,625 units in 2012.

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid and Volvo V40 leads the market in Europe. Both models recorded positive sales in the Netherlands, the UK, Switzerland and Spain.

In Sweden, along with these two models, Volvo XC60 model recorded a positive growth.

The automotive giant has recorded retail sales of 4,188 cars in the US with the Volvo S60 and XC60 models representing the majority of sales.
