RxSafe, a US-based automated medication storage and retrieval systems provider, has introduced a new line of strip packaging machines.
The new RxASP line has been designed to increase pharmacy productivity and decrease error and time spent tracking inventory.
The new line, which provides robotic medication strip packaging, is claimed to be the first of its kind to be made in America.
The products include four different machines - RxASP 1000, RxASP 600, RxASP 300 and RxASP 20.
RxASP 1000 has the capacity to produce around 300 single or multi-dose pouches per minute with six independent outputs, and accommodates up to 1000 RFID canisters, whereas RxASP 600, which accommodates around 600 RFID canisters, is said to produce up to 200 single or multi-dose pouches per minute with four independent outputs.
RxASP 300 can accommodate about 300 RFID canisters, and has the capacity to produce around 100 single or multi-dose pouches per minute with two independent outputs.
RxASP 20, which can produce up to 50 single or multi-dose pouches per minute, has the ability to accommodate 50 single or multi-dose pouches per minute.
Without the need for secondary machine, all systems offer optional integrated machine vision for pouch inspection, claimed the company.
RxSafe founder and CEO William Holmes said the new line will reduce human error and increase productivity.
"With the lowest daily operating costs in the industry and pouch outputs that are radically higher than any other model available, the RxASP line will save pharmacies, of all sizes, money and time," Holmes added.
