Hain Frozen Foods UK, a subsidiary of The Hain Celestial Group, has acquired England-based soup manufacturer The Yorkshire Provender for an undisclosed price.
The acquisition is expected to help the US-based Hain Celestial to expand its presence into premium soup products.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in North Yorkshire, Yorkshire Provender manufactures premium branded soup products which are distributed to retailers, on-the-go food outlets and food service providers across the UK.
The Hain Daniels Group CEO James Skidmore said that the acquisition of Yorkshire Provender complements the company’s New Covent Garden Soup and Cully & Sully ranges of fresh soups while expanding its own soup range into premium offerings.
Skidmore added: "It is a pleasure to welcome the Yorkshire Provender team to our organization, and we look forward to working with Belinda and Terry Williams, co-founders of Yorkshire Provender, as we embark on the brand's next stage of growth.”
Yorkshire Provender's gluten-free, delicious premium recipes and flavors will now be offered by Hain Celestial which intends to expand the distribution range of the products in the UK and Europe, concluded Skidmore.
In 2016, Yorkshire Provender made nearly £6m in net sales. Hain Celestial expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings in fiscal year 2018 as it plans to leverage on the combined infrastructures to drive growth in the future.
The soup manufacturer will continue to operate from its existing location in Yorkshire.
Headquartered in Lake Success, New York, Hain Celestial is an organic and natural products company having operations across North America, Europe and India.
Last month, Hain Celestial established a joint venture with Rosetto Foods, a new company managed by Steven Sands which manufactures frozen Italian foods.
