US-based Brewery Ommegang has joined forces with Crown Speciality Packaging North America to design a new metal package to hold 750ml bottles of its Belgian-Style Trappist Dark Ale, Ommegang XV Reserve Ale.
The black cylindrical container extends the brand's exposure long after consumption of the beer.
Initially, Crown provided a series of samples, including tubular designs for the brewer to make a selection that could incorporate the colors and finishes.
Multiple draw-downs were created including variations in blacks, grays, golds, and other metallic sheens were created during the design process and overlays were added to the mix to determine the better combination.
Crown also provided a series of designs and artwork samples printed on flat metal sheets helping Ommegang to visualize and interact with the final product.
Crown produced 20,000 packages for the product, which were distributed throughout North America.
