Recently, Shanghai Hitachi gives its only 2012 Most Valuable Supplier Award to Baosteel. This is its affirmation of Baosteel for its active practice of customer-centric business philosophy, exploration in supply chain full range cooperative service model, quality, technology and service performance in silicon steel and hot rolling pickling product supply. This is also the first time that Shanghai Hitachi grants this award to domestic steel company.
Shanghai Hitachi was founded in 1993. It is domestic air-conditioning compressor industry leader and has the only state-level enterprise technical center and national accredited laboratory in domestic air conditioning compressor industry. Its products cover the field of domestic refrigeration and are sold in more than 160 countries and regions in the world.
Shanghai Hitachi is Baosteel Co.,Ltd.'s important strategic customer. Since 1999, Baosteel and Shanghai Hitachi has carried out good cooperation in hot rolled pickling product supply and Baosteel has developed high yield strength and ultra-low carbon soft steel new products for Shanghai Hitachi which meet its process requirements. Currently, Shanghai Hitachi compressor casing production all adopts Baosteel hot rolled pickling products and supply capacity reaches 60000 tons last year. Since 2000, Baosteel and Shanghai Hitachi increases cooperation in the field of silicon steel products and Baosteel has developed a special grade of silicon steel new product for Shanghai Hitachi, breaking its long-term dependence on silicon steel imports. After years of efforts, currently Baosteel Co.,Ltd.'s silicon steel products account for nearly 70% of Shanghai Hitachi's purchases.
In recent years, to continue to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two sides, Baosteel and Shanghai Hitachi establish joint laboratory, carry out collaborative technology cost reduction, improve logistics operation efficiency and joint build Party organizations. It gives full play to both sides' industrial technology advantage and fully creates "harmonious, green, innovative" industrial value chain.
Shanghai Hitachi has high requirement on steel supplier's overall marketing service comprehensive strength. Previouly domestic steel companies have never been given Most Valuable Supplier Award and the vacancy has lasted for many years. In next stage, Baosteel will join hands with Shanghai Hitachi. According to downstream appliance manufacturers' demand for energy-efficience and green manufacturing, they will increase the pace of collaborative research in new generation of "concept air conditioning" design and manufacturing, silicon steel new product's application in compressor, material environmental coating, hot rolled pickling product thinning application and work together to upgrade industrial chain's service level and capabilities.
