New FMX Truck Was Released by Volvo at Bauma 2013 in Germany

Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo's subsidiary Volvo Trucks has launched its new FMX truck at the ongoing Bauma 2013 trade fair in Munich, Germany.

The truck is available with two engine options including the 11L, D11 Euro-6 engine that generates outputs between 330hp and 450hp, while the 13L D13 Euro-6 engine delivers outputs ranging from 420hp to 500hp.

Both the engines are mated to the I-Shift transmission, which is claimed to offer efficient managing at low speeds and can be combined with a driven front axle, along with longer oil-change interval.

According to the company, the engine comes with a non-cooled EGR system for recirculation of exhaust gases that can increase exhaust gas temperature and NOx levels for efficient after-treatment.

Volvo Trucks president Claes Nilsson said: "We have improved every detail of the truck, large and small, which are vital for ensuring the truck's robustness and handling."

The company has made the I-Shift Automated transmission available on FMX 4x4 and 6x6 all-wheel drive vehicles, while the engines are available with compliance of Euro-3, Euro-4 and Euro-5 standars outside Europe.
