US automaker General Motors (GM) has started the production of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala sedan at its Oshawa Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada.
The new sedan will be offered with three direct-injection engine choices, including a 3.6L V-6 engine, a newly designed 2.5L four-cylinder and a 2.4L four-cylinder featuring eAssist technology.
All the offered engines will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Features of the 2014 Impala include adaptive cruise control and crash-avoidance technologies such as rear cross traffic alert and sideblind zone alert, while about ten standard airbags are also included in almost all models.
Being built alongside the Chevrolet Camaro, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is scheduled to go on sale in April 2013.
Additionally, GM will manufacture the new Impala at its Detroit-Hamtramck manufacturing plant, where the production will commence in May 2013.
