US-based food company Kellogg is launching five new flavours of pop tarts in December. The products will be available until Spring 2016.
The pop tarts' taste varies widely and comes in flavours such as Chocolatey Caramel, Pink Lemonade Frosted Watermelon, Maple Bacon, and Frosted Spring Strawberry. While Chocolatey Caramel tart contains chocolate crust and frosting with mushy caramel, Pink Lemonade Pop-Tarts combine the contrasting flavour of sweetness and tartness.
Maple Bacon comes with a golden crust packed with maple bacon filling and topped with sweet white frosting. The crunchies sprinkled on top are salty and smoky flavoured, reported Delish.com.
Frosted Watermelon Pop-Tarts contain watermelon flavour filling which is topped with pink frosting and green icing. Frosted Spring Strawberry Pop-Tarts come with a unique and fun illustration on the frosting.
Kellogg's introduced the pop tarts in 1964. Back then, they were pre-cooked and packaged to be toaster-ready. Pop Tarts come in several flavours. Some pastries even come without frosting. They specially cater as snacks for people on the move, reported The Examiner.
While Pink Lemonade Pop-Tarts will launch in a limited edition in April 2016, Frosted Spring Strawberry will launch before them in early 2016. Frosted Watermelon, Chocolatey Caramel, and Maple Bacon will launch earlier in December 2015, reported Delish.com.
Recently, Kellogg brands have launched limited-edition frosted mini-wheats pumpkin spice, special k apple cinnamon crunch cereals along with pop-tarts pumpkin pie and keebler pumpkin spice fudge stripe cookies.
