Revamped Version of Sprinter Is Showed by Mercedes-Benz

German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the revamped version of its Sprinter Vans with new Euro 6 compliant engines.

The vehicle has been made available with four-cylinder and six-cylinder diesel engines that generate outputs ranging between 70kW (95hp) and 140kW (190hp).

Sprinter is also available with a 1.8L supercharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with direct injection that delivers an output 115kW (156hp) and a natural gas variant with similar outputs.

All the variants of the van are claimed to satisfy the Euro 6 emission standards and come with ECO-Gear six-speed manual transmission or the 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission with lock-up clutch.

According to the company, the developers have used the additional exhaust treatment stage to improve the injection and combustion processes and the boost pressure that has resulted in lower fuel consumption and less combustion noise.

The engineers also adjusted the drive system and the ancillary components to enhance fuel efficiency, the company said.

Features of the vans include crosswind assist, collision prevention assist, blind spot assist and the optional highbeam assist and lane keeping assist.

Additionally, the vehicle has electronic stability program and a lowered chassis to improved the van's drag.
