Topanga Technologies Unveiled Its APL Series Plasma Light Sources

Topanga Technologies unveiled its APL Series plasma light sources with superior brightness ideal for architectural, street, industrial and area lighting applications.Topanga's APL product line will be exhibited at the LIGHTFAIR International, scheduled between May 9 and 11,at Las Vegas.

Topanga will demonstrate its proprietary products such as APL400 and APL250.Topanga's APL400 renders 5,000°K color temperature, featuring 22,000 lm output and 130 LPW efficiency. The APL250 generates 11,000 lm output with 115 LPW efficiency and 5,500°K color temperature. In addition, the new 750-1000 W HID source replacement APL1000 to be launched in 2013 will also be displayed during the LIGHTFAIR.

The multi-featured APL system of Topanga is based on proprietary configuration of an electrode-free quartz bulb that enclose a solid-state power amplifier that can illuminate the lamp gaining source from radio frequency(RF)energy.Advanced fixtures can be designed by combining small point source light with customer input that ultimately results in maximum design flexibility with a high lumen output and increased energy-efficiency compared to fluorescent, induction,HID and LED light sources.

APL400–based AR860 Architectural Light and Grandlite's AR828 Area Light will be displayed in addition to Topanga's APL250 as well as energyLIGHTING's HIGHBAY-mini will be demonstrated during LIGHTFAIR.

LTI Optics will enable the attendees at LIGHTFAIR to be familiar with the features of APL in several reflector reference configurations for high bay and Type III and V area lights.

In collaboration with Topanga,NXP Semiconductors will demonstrate APL-assisted wireless intelligent networking and control,as well as 100%-20%dimming based on NXP's JenNet-IP.Furthermore,Gregg Hollingsworth,VP of Engineering at Topanga, will deliver presentation on'Taking Plasma Lighting from Technology to Application'on May 11 at LIGHTFAIR.
