UK-based R&R Ice Cream has completed the acquisition of yoomoo, a frozen yogurt brand, for an undisclosed amount.
Yoomoo, founded in 2011, is a leading frozen yogurt brand in the UK. The brand has achieved retail sales through supermarkets of pound 4m, since its introduction in March 2012 to date.
The brand offers yoomoo yogurt bars as well as yoomoo at home range. Yoomoo yogurt bar products are 100% fat free, while yoomoo at home range is made from a 70% British yogurt base, no artificial flavours, colors or preservatives and is low in fat. The products are available in major shopping centres and stores throughout the UK.
The yoomoo brand complements R&R's leading brands including Kelly's of Cornwall, Fab and Skinny Cow.
R&R marketing director Phil Griffin said, "yoomoo has achieved an impressive rise within the frozen yogurt sector and we look forward to maximising the potential of the brand through using the resource and experience of R&R to build on the brands success."
R&R plans to invest in the yoomoo brand with pound 2m above the line planned for 2013, as part of its efforts to increase the awareness and sales of the brand. The company also plans to expand the 'at home range' from March with four new varieties.
Yoomoo founders Amanda and Daniel Gestetner will continue to operate the chain of yoomoo brand yogurt bars across the UK, while focusing on overseas expansion to the Middle East and Greece under license.
R&R Ice Cream, based in Northallerton, UK, is involved in the production and sale of ice cream and frozen confectionery. It offers cones, sticks, lollies, push-ups, family tubs, premium tubs, ice cream rolls, choc ices, bars, frozen smoothies, and mousses.
