Oman Gas Company SAOC has gained the first prize at the level of oil and gas industry for achieving the highest percentage of Omanisation.
The Omanisation at the company reached 95%, which is the highest among all companies in oil and gas sector. It has exceeded the percentage of Omanisation specified by the government.
Mr Abdulaziz bin Saied al Mejaibi general manager of Operations at OGC, who received the prestigious award on behalf of the company, said that OGC is proud to gain this prize because it reflects the recognition of the efforts done by OGC to absorb the national cadres.
Engineer Mr Abdulaziz bin Saied al Mejaibi highlighted the importance of this certificate in terms of the field OGC is operating at, saying that oil and gas industry is a field of work that is characterized by minuteness and difficulty. And to have our work operated and managed smoothly by Omanis; particularly when the omanisation percentage reaches 95%, it is a great source of pride for us and for national labor force as well.
Mr Abdulaziz said that " We set the empowerment and training of national labor as a priority. Our sincere and hard efforts paid off; for example, the top management has seen 100 per cent Omanisation and the middle management is also predominantly made up of Omanis. It is not a thing we see frequently in companies operating in oil and gas."
He said that "The excellent results our company has been achieving along the past six years are the best proof that our company's philosophy and vision concerning enabling national cadres are successful; we achieved a gas supply rate of 99.9% and 575 working hours without incidents."
