LAS VEGAS - Organic Mattresses Inc. is introducing a new Certified Organic Mattress Collection at the Las Vegas Market that doubles the number of third-party certified organic mattresses offered by the company.
The Yuba City, Calif.-based producer said it has been almost a year since it became the first mattress manufacturer to offer retailers certified organic latex beds under the Global Organic Latex Standard.
With its new collection, OMI will add nine SKUs to its lineup of third-party certified organic mattress offerings. Retails for the new beds range from $1,795 to $10,000.
"While we at OMI have always pushed for greater consumer choice within the sleep industry as a whole, we are now focusing on breaking down the organic bedding category itself to bring more choice from the inside," said Walt Bader, OMI's founder and president.
"The Certified Organic Mattress Collection adds an extra level of assurance to both our retailers and their customers that our products are third-party certified as the healthiest option available on the market today. As the growth of the organic segment continues, relating to over 80 million American households, we felt these consumers deserve to have organic bedding options that would meet their individualized needs," Bader said.
The Certified Organic Mattress Collection features a fully certified organic Dunlop latex core. Aesthetic updates to differentiate the GOLS-certified collection include certified green yarn weaved throughout the mattresses' ticking in a vine pattern. The product will be highlighted in OMI's Las Vegas showroom, World Market Center C-1507, with new point-of-purchase displays and lifestyle images touting the benefits of the new collection.
OMI's hand-made custom organic mattresses are manufactured in northern California in the first large-scale Global Organic Textile Standard-certified Eco-Factory created solely to manufacture organic products, the company said.
