HTC Debuted Its First WP8 Smartphones 8X and 8S on Sept.19

Taipei,Sept.21,2012(CENS)--HTC Corp.,one of the world's leading smartphone vendors,debuted its first WP8 smartphones 8X and 8S on Sept.19 in New York,which will hit stores in November this year.

The company has secured pledges with around 150 telecom carriers to sell the new models of HTC smartphones,the largest number of telecom carriers that have simultaneously promised to sell the company's phones.The carriers include Orange,Verizon,Vodafone,O2,T-Mobile,Telstra,Optus,SinTel,AT&T,Chunghwa Telecom,Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecom.

Industry executives estimated the new phones will help boost the company's revenue for the fourth quarter.

Running on Windows Phone 8 OS,8X has a 4.3-inch super LCD screen while 8S has a 4-inch screen of the same type.They are slim,only 10-mm in body thickness in thickest part.Nokia's Lumia 920 is 10.7 mm.8X and 8S are powered by Qualcomm quad-core processor.

Both HTC Chief Executive Officer(CEO)Peter Chou and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer attended the debut presentation.

Chou pointed out that Microsoft WP8 OS inspires HTC to create more ideas for smartphones and make smartphones more personalized.He is optimistic about Microsoft's smartphone platform and feels the OS will become one of the world's most powerful mobile platforms
