UK-based general insurer Liverpool Victoria (LV=) has appointed Wendy Mayall as its new chief investment officer.
In her new role, Mayall will be responsible for all elements of the company's investment strategy.
She will provide advice and support to LV='s different business areas and will oversee the relationship with Threadneedle Investments, who manage the society's assets.
Mayall will report into Philip Moore, group finance director.
Moore said, "Wendy will join my senior team and play a key part in ensuring our investment performance is strong and our members can continue to enjoy market-leading returns on their investment products."
Most recently, Mayall has been a strategic advisor for Stamford Associates, a fiduciary management and manager research firm, which she jointly founded in 1987.
Mayall worked at Unilever for 17 years and was responsible for setting up the first multinational vehicle to pool funds globally, the hedge fund-of-funds and various equity multi-manager vehicles.
