With this new process, Sunflower Butter will now be produced in one continuous process to ensure that the fresh roasting flavor is preserved from field to table.

The company also claims that this process will improve product consistency and it is also free from top 8 food allergens.

The company says that products produced from the new equipment will arrive in stores in the spring of this year and will also carry a message on the bottles that says 'Now Soy Free'.

SunButter has become an alternative product to peanut butter in the recent years. People suffering from peanut, tree nut allergies and other food borne allergies will find SunButter as a good alternative, the company claimed.

SunButter sales and marketing director Justin LaGosh, said: "The new production process allows us to improve our fresh roasted flavor while also ensuring consistency in our texture and color in every batch.

"Because the new roasting equipment will be solely dedicated to SunButter, we can guarantee that SunButter is free from the top 8 food allergens, including soy, which is critical for families with food allergies and schools seeking a peanut free, school safe protein-rich menu option.

"SunButter is a solution to help schools become peanut aware and avoid serious allergic reactions in school."

Red River Commodities, the parent company of SunButter, president, Bob Majkrzak said: "We are committed to provide the best tasting, highest quality, and safest products. "

"We supply premium sunflower planting seed to select local growers that only grow sunflowers for SunButter.

"The planting seed is an exclusive GMO free variety which delivers superior flavor, color, and texture when made into SunButter.

"When the seed is harvested, it is transported directly to our processing facility to ensure process control.

"The new inline roaster, dedicated solely to making SunButter, allows us to strengthen our pledge to our consumers."

Last August, SunButter had introduced a School Safe Foodservice Recipe Book, which was available as a free download at its website.
