Constantia Flexibles Completes Acquisition of Mexican Folding Carton

Austrian flexible packaging group Constantia Flexibles has completed the acquisition of 100% of Globalpack in Mexico. The parties have not disclosed the purchase price of the transaction.

Constantia Flexibles CEO Thomas Unger said, "With this transaction we significantly strengthen our market position in North America and will get access to the growing markets in Central America."

According to the company, the acquisition is part of its international growth strategy and constitutes a basis for further growth and expansion in North and Latin America regions.

Flexible packaging and folding carton company Globalpack, which has sales of about €180m, supplies the fast-moving-consumer-goods industry for food, beverage and non-food products.

The company operates at two production sites in Mexico under the brand names Aluprint and Grafo Regia in San Luis Potosí and Monterrey respectively, and converts various materials such as plastic films, aluminum foil and paper.
