Mars Food North America is recalling one specific lot of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Original Long Grain White Rice product due to punctures in the pouch packaging.
The recall affects Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Original Long Grain White Rice product featuring Best By date of '12/14 MADE IN CANADA,' and with lot code 351GBBFPXX where XX represents the packaging equipment, which could be 1L, 1R, 2L, 2R, 3L, or 3R.
No other lot codes of Uncle Ben's products or Mars Foodservices products are affected in the withdrawal.
The recall was initiated after the company identified punctures to the pouch packaging. The company noted that it has to date received no reports of illness associated with the consumption of the recalled product.
Those who have purchased the recalled product have been advised not to eat it and instead to return it to the place of purchase.
