Peugeot Citroen Starts Automobile Assembly in Kazakhstan in June

Peugeot Citroen Group announced recently, they has made a deal with Agramash, Ltd and make cooperation in Kazakhstan to assemble and sell Peugeot brand passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Acceding to the contract, both sided will assemble a series of models in Kazakhstan at the beginning of June this year, including Peugeot 301, 3008, 508 and Partner. The Initial capacity was about 4,000 units per year. Peugeot annual sales will be more than 10,000 in Kazakhstan in the future.

Bernd Schantz, the general manager of Peugeot Citroen in Russia, Ukraine and CIS region, said the cooperate program in Kazakhstan will help Peugeot Citroen to enlarge the local business, and an important milestone for the company to develop business in Asia, Latin America and CIS region.

It predicts that the program will add 300 and 150 new jobs for France and Kazakhstan respectively. Besides the local automobile assembly, Peugeot’s factory in Kaluga, Russia will produce 408 models for the market.
