Kuo-Wei Chang Has Been Promoted to Chairman to Help EVA Air in Modernization and Globaliza

Taipei, Dec.27, 2012 (CENS)-- Taiwan's EVA Airways Corp. (EVA Air) confirmed that Kuo-Wei Chang, the general manager, has been promoted to chairman to help EVA Air in modernization and globalization.

The airline's parent company Evergreen Group, whose business covers marine shipping, aviation, and steel production, is still under the helms of the group's founder Yung-Fa Chang.

Evergreen's CEO, G.W. Nie, stated that Kuo-Wei Chang has helped EVA Air introduce Hello Kitty fleet and Royal Laurel Class, as well as conduct fleet adjustment and join the Star Alliance since becoming the general manager.

Nie added that being part of the Star Alliance in 2013 will help EVA Air connect with globally renowned airlines including Lufthansa German Airlines, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, and Thai Airways, which will help EVA Air enhance network expansion, operating system, and customer service.

Since joining Evergreen in 1996, Kuo-Wei Chang has worked in airport, cargo, maintenance, and transportation. In 2006, he went to the U.S. to learn piloting, and was approved by Civil Aeronautics Administration with B777-300ER certification in 2010. In 2011, Kuo-Wei Chang was promoted to general manager.
